Tools for the Terrified: Home Maintenance Course - 15/09/2009

After the success of our last two workshops in March & June, we are coming back bigger and better with a day-long workshop on Saturday 7th November 2009.

The goal of the workshop is to teach attendees to handle small jobs around the home, from hanging pictures and curtains so they stay up to carrying basic decorating tasks. You'll learn a variety of things, including:

Building your toolkit - what tools are really useful to have to hand
Basic carpentry - how to use different tools and materials
Basic decorating - how to prepare surfaces & how to select brushes and rollers
How to maintain your plumbing and electrical systems, including what to do if there was a problem

Date - 7th November 2009
Time - 9.30am - 6pm
(doors open 9.00am)
Location - St Andrews Church, Short Street, SE1 8LJ
Cost - £120 (incl of VAT)

After a very successful round of DIY workshops in March, we're running them again in May. The workshops are for people who would like to be able to take on basic DIY in their homes. We'll be run the course one evening a week over 4 weeks, covering one topic each week:

Home Jane has officially launched in Manchester!

Beginning with plumbing, plastering and painting and decorating services, we will be expanding soon to include other areas of property maintenance.

Interior designer joins Home Jane - 14/05/2008

Home Jane is pleased to announce that we have now taken on an interior designer.

This allows us to be even more of an all-inclusive service for our clients' larger projects, from single room redecorations to full flat refurbishments.

Working with our clients from the early planning stages to project completion, our interior design service covers design consultation, project management and sourcing.

Our interior designer has an eco-conscious philosophy, offering clients to implement eco-friendly solutions where appropriate.




Raising the Roof - 30/03/2008

Home Jane was recently featured in a new documentary about women in the trades.

"Raising the Roof", a film by Anne-Marie Sweeney, explores the challenges women face in the modern construction and trade industries.

Our Managing Director, Jo Behari, and several of our tradeswomen were featured in the documentary.

The film was produced for JIVE at Oxford Women's Training, a JIVE partner at OCVC.
